I will go back....

Hoguvenu na... begins a poem by the Kannada poet Kuvempu who said that he would love to go back to his hilly native which is filled with greenery and life. But he did not leave Mysore city till he died. But his son silently went there and has been living a great life of Malnad Farmer... Writing things about agriculture, wonders, computers and what not. He has taste for photography, painting, fishing and so many others things! He is a model for me, in a way.
I have always said... I DON'T HAVE ANY AMBITION. But one ambition that I have repeated in vague words is that.... I MUST HAVE A FARM HOUSE. I must grow everything that I eat and which can be grown in my climate. I must reduce buying and selling to the maximum possbile extent. Plainly speaking, BACK TO SOIL. That's the original and truthful thing about existence.
Man, who is just another animal(who refuses to think so), has made his life so complicated by calling himself a rational creature. Henry David Thoreau's WALDEN clearly gives many hints about how simplified a man's life can be. He lives by a lake namely Walden for some years, A L O N E! and proves his point. How spiritual life can really become!!!
The pace of this city life, unwanted tension, unpleasant money matters, running behind nothing to get nothing... If given a choice and support from my family, I WILL GO BACK....

human with his technological development he has completly forgetten his roots, it seems like we are comming Surviving Machines who are governed by Consumerism. We survive to buy more, we buy things which are not necessary and we work more and aim for bigger salary to buy more unwanted things

i have a question for u, as i was going through your blog i came across a line mentioning "Man,who is just another animal" in "I will go back..." is it ur thinking or u have an authentic information about that..? if r u referring to so called "Darwins Theory" then let me tell u that it is just a theory and theories always take a U turn.. and not facts.I just wanted to tell u that i dont agree with ur line and Man is not an animal..and i strongly believe that.. what do u have to say about this..thank you.

True Sujatha, I'm replying after seeing this message 7 years later... My feelings have not changed! I'm still in a village. I'm still dreaming of farming!

I'm completely happy to disagree with you and stick to my ideas. Man is just another animal in Ecology. We need to move from anthropocentrism to ecocentrism! That is a considerate thing one can achieve!

Accumulation of more money and more things does not mean more happiness... Thanks!
